Budget Forecasting Tool for Nuclear Power Plants

EDF needed an internal web application to model energy markets and forecast maintenance activities for its nuclear power plants over a 10-year horizon.

Improve the reliability of budget estimates by centralizing critical data and streamlining collaboration across departments (finance, operations, maintenance).

  1. Strategic framing
    Facilitated workshops and interviews with stakeholders to align on the product vision, scope, and KPIs.

  2. User research
    Field observations with 5 domain experts
    30 semi-structured user interviews
    Document analysis: existing information architecture, internal studies
    Creation of a shared atomic research repository

  3. Ideation & co-design
    Organized design sprints and cross-team workshops (idea generation, co-conception, product planning)

  4. UX production
    Defined 3 personas enriched with experience maps and user journeys
    Designed wireframes and interactive prototypes (Figma)
    Close collaboration with developers

  5. User testing & iterations
    Usability tests on the overall journey and specific features before production
    Guerrilla testing on early versions for fast iteration
